Numerous studies prove that the act of learning to play a musical instrument has profound and far-reaching effects on the development of a child’s brain. This research indicates playing music enhances the ability to learn and helps children develop concentration skills, patience and self confidence.

Unfortunately, many school systems have been stripped of their music programs. These cuts have had a disproportionately large impact on children from low-income backgrounds. LKR’s mission is to provide instruments and music instruction to the kids in underfunded school systems.
